Lost remote control for NTL cable TV box. Replacement?

Hi,
I am looking for a replacement for lost remote control for NTL (now Virgin Media) cable TV set-top box (Samsung SMT-2100C). Can anyone point me in the right direction of how I can get one that will 'speak' with it? Would the "universal" one sold at Poundland or flea market work?

Can't you just ring up Virgin CS and get them to send a replacement out, tel them the dog has chewed it or something?That gum you like is coming back in style.0
