OS 'Cures' for colds

proprietary extract from the echinacea plant (Echinacea purpurea) enhances systemic immune response during a common cold. This looks interesting but it looks like you need to take quite a bit (with eight doses (5 mL/dose) on day 1 and three doses on subsequent days)
As there isn't really any medical treatment for the common cold anything that makes you think it's going quicker will make you feel better. I don't think we're going to infringe the medical advice rules as this isn't the health forum and whatever anyone thinks is a quicker way to get rid of a cold is really just hearsay. I used to believe in zinc and vitamin c but it's so long since I've had a cold I'm not sure where the lozengas are.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Hi Ted,
While it is not the Health board, MoneySaving Old Style is part of MSE and as such any post giving medical advice could (as Curry_Queen has already mentioned) have legal repercussions for Martin.

No one can sue Martin for the use of ginger, lemon, honey, apple juice and hot baths!!! They are all things you might use in normal day to day life.
But I see what you mean and please feel free to delete this post if you need to.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
*** Board Guide Notice ***
I have closed this thread pending advice from abcon since I am not qualified to decide what is and is not medical advice and am reminding members that giving medical advice is against MSE policy. There is always the danger that even the most innocuous advice might cause a reader to ignore a symptom that turns out to be one that leads to a more serious problem.
