We have a new "naughty-word" in our house which only the fearless (or downright flipping stupid) may dare to mention :silenced:

Suffice to say the article placed before me for my ... *shudders* ... "approval" ... will be returned first thing in the morning :naughty:

    *Don't ask!*

That's fighting talk!!! Sounds to me as if you should tell them that there will be meals until they get the right one!! After all, you couldn't possibly prepare a meal since it's impossible to prepare anything without the proper equipment.
    Time for a
    HUFF

    I am in a tremendous huff –
    Really, really bad,

It isn’t any ordinary huff –

It’s one of the best I’ve had

I plan to keep it up for a month

    Or maybe for a year

And you needn’t think you can make me smile

Or talk to you, no fear

I can do without you and her and them –

    Too late to make amends.

I’ll think deep thoughts on my own for a while,

    Then find some better friends

And they’ll be wise and kind and good

    And bright enough to see

That they should behave with proper respect

    Towards somebody like me

I do like being in a huff –

    Cold fury is so heady.

I’ve been like this for half and hour

And it’s cheered me up already

Perhaps I’ll give them another chance,

    Now I’m feeling stronger

But they’d better watch out – my next big huff

Could last much, much, much longer

Mine's a kenwood but I lost the instructions, so I really don't think I'm getting the best out of it. (Especially since I broke one of the attachments while trying to make muffins not realising why they turned out so heavy when I didn't do them by hand...)

So what am I missing? What do they DO exactly? I use the blender bit in mine for soup. The metal blade for houmous, breadcrumbs and crumble mix. I sometimes use the grate/chop bits for veg. Can it do more?!
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

I have a really basic cheapie one, it's got a blender bit that can sit on top but I think that's been used about 3 times since I've taken it out the box. The main body of it gets used for everything, slicing, grating, pastry, mixing, chopping, blending soups etc.....I would imagine it gets used on average 4 times a week and washes up well. I've not managed to break any bits of it yet either. We got it 4 years ago when we got married and I think it set us back a whole £19.99.

I'd quite happily buy another one of the same make when this one finally gives up as I don't agree in just buying for "names" sake.

  • I have a Kenwood processor which OH bought me about three years ago. Came with all sorts of whizzy attachments, coffee grinder, herb mill, blender, graters etc. etc. Must admit I only use the blender for soups and the main mixing bowl for grating and chopping though :o But my main peeve with it is that I've had to replace the main bowl TWICE, both times the handle has come away from the bowl  costs nearly £35 to replace it too. I was particularly angry this time as I'd treated the replacement with kid gloves, not picking it up by the handle, only handwashing it etc and STILL the handle broke. Grr. Definitely NOT recommended by me, I could have bought a whole new processor with the cost of replacements!

jaybee ... I LOVE THAT!! Thank you ... I've printed it off just in case I can find it within myself to be soooo :silenced: that I need to express myself via the written word :D That is a belter :D :rotfl:

My Kenwood (which DS gave a hot bath ) never had a blender ... but I would puree up the lumpy elements for soups in it anyway; hummous  breadcrumbs; I would finely chop certain veggies so a certain male grown-up wouldn't realise he was eating them ;);) I would make smoothies; make all sorts of coleslaws/salads; prep the stir fry veggies, make my icecream/sorbets; mince some meats; whip up cakes/batters; oh goodness ... loads!!! LOL

However ... my Kenwood days are now well and truly over *sigh* :( because now I have ....

    A MAGIMIX :j :j :j :D:D:D:D:D

I'll have to come back to you to answer your question more fully Gingham ... I need to have a bit of a play ;)

Thanks for all the recommendations ... I still mourn my Kenwood, it still should of had a lot more life in it yet ... but ... as they say: "Every cloud has a silver lining" ;)
