Because hubby and I were given some joint Xmas money, we thought we would treat ourselves to one of these processors as we have wanted to buy one for years but other things always came up. Have read this thread but no models of the Magimix are named so could anyone give us advice on the best to mix cakes, blend soup, chop nuts, liquidise before we shell out the cash. Thank you.

There's a good site here that shows you all the differences between the models, and I spotted one reduced in the sale in Argos yesterday morning when I was trawling through their website. Was very tempted myself but it's not high on my list of priorities at the moment - think it was the 3100 model but can't remember the price now.

Mine is the 4100 Cuisine Magimix - 3 bowls which all sit in the machine so I can use either the mini/midi or full size depending on the need. Came with a utensil box and several blades/utensils. The slicing/grating disc is smaller than I was used to with my old one, but you can buy extra blades/disc depending on your needs/requirements. I haven't ordered the larger grating/slicing disc yet and to be honest, haven't really needed to at this stage.

Still getting used to it and haven't explored it's full potential - but absolutely loving the citrus press attachment; which came as standard! When Sainsbury's (where I buy my reduced stuff only) have oranges knocked down in price, I grab them so we can have freshly squeezed orange juice  Nothing tastes better! (Except, maybe ... for the fruit smoothies that I make in the main bowl :D )

Unlike my old machine - this one is permanently on the worksurface ready for action at any given moment in time.
