Well, the word hectic doesn't cover this weekends activities. We are all shattered and will probably be glad to get back into a normal routine whatever that is. Sold a ride on dumper truck, given out what feels like millions of flyers and managed to watch a bit of showjumping. For those who follow it the Whittaker family were out in force along with Tim Stockdale, for those that don't these are the elite who represent us in the Olympics.

We were given some 'free' tickets to a band and hog roast last night. We went, though all we really wanted to do was crawl into bed and never get up for a looooonnngg time. However the hog roast turned out not to be free and were a bit put out as the evening cost us £30 and we could've had a take away for less money and saved on petrol. Lesson learned.

One of DD2s friends was there and she went off with her and her mum. Later on we saw an ambulance but didn't think anything of it till DD2 returned. It turns out that the mum had fallen going down the grandstand and fractured her ankle. Another lady took the daughter home, though we did offer. When we left the hog roast we realised her car was still there, so called in at the house to say we could get the car home or give the dad a lift. OH got a text tonight to say that they'd got the car home and she needs an operation. I offered some childcare for Thursday as I know he's self employed. Never a good time for these things to happen but at the beginning of the summer hols....

The stall holder next to us was a really very nice chap. He was a scottish speaking Sikh, selling clothes. He bought us a coffee, gave me and 2 of the children coats and sold OH some trousers at cost price and offered us a bed next time we go to Edinburgh. He also gave us some pointers on setting out our stall. He even had OH hanging up clothes for him, its taken me nearly 19 years of marriage and I didn't even know he could drive a coat hanger!!!!

Had to go back up to the workshop, even though collapsing in a heap never to move again was the preferred option, to try and get sorted for our chap who's back off his holibobs. He called in even though he ws jet lagged but had had a good time. OH, however is not looking forward to going back to work even if it is for 1 day. As he also resembles a lobster due to sunburn and hasn't stopped whingeing about it I think a day of p1ss taking from his work colleagues should sort him out.

Taking 2 of the chaps to the ortho dontist tomorrow but that's in the afternoon. Ds1 is hankering after a lift but thats not happening. He did resemble the living dead today as he'd been to an all night party and spent most of the afternoon asleep in Morris.

Had a good sleep last night, despite the birdies singing outside my open bedroom window in the early hours trying to wake me up. Must get up and dressed and find the kitchen and attempt to do a meal plan of some sort. Hoping to get the chaps bedding washed and dried and then maybe shove the hovver round.

1st load on the line, bedding now on the go and can see most of the carpets in the house so am off to locate the hoover. Have got a pan of soup on, made with the stock from the gammon joint cooked the other day. The DDs seem intent on killing each other today, so being the bad mother I am, I'm letting them get on with it.

LOL, no its a toy ride on dumper truck with pedals.

Just caught DS1 feeding his ferret my steak and kidney from out of the freezer, did offer to swop it with a rabbit not impressed. Will try and post some piccis of ferret babies if I can remember how, which are very cute.

Anybody want a daughter? She omes with lots of extras, clothes, grumpyness, shoes, grumpyness, will provide bed, grumpyness, toothbrush grumpyness....... you get the drift. Off to make spag bol.

  • I like ferrets they are very cute, but a bit smelly at times. Pics would be lovely :)
