I wish I could come up with something constructive for you, but my knowledge of this type of thing is negligable. I do hope, however, that you are able to get things sorted one way or another without any additional stress for you xx

If your house is uninhabitable and you are going to be made homeless then the council have an obligation to rehouse you as you have children. When you get a copy of the letter and your LL issues notice take them to the council.
Sorry thats all I can think of at the moment..I also hear shelter are good for advice and there are a lot of knowelgeable people on the house buying/renting selling board on here.

Oh so sorry lucielle the week was sounding so good too. Id get back in touch with the landlord too see if he has any other property or at least knows of another one to rent to you, its so worrying and as you say its a double edged sword. I hope the weekend improves for you and have everything crossed for some positive news re the house.

Thanks for all the replies. Reading it back after a nights sleep I do sound very dramatic. Think I had to get it off my chest and then get practical head on. I've been in touch with shelter and as Taxi says the council will have to house us. To get to that stage the LL will have to get court orders and such like so stress city here we come! From what the EH officer was saying, most of the floors will have to come to have the damproof course put in. As they are concrete, can't begin to imgine the mess.

Have done the ironing and got most of DS2s stuff sorted need to pack it. Got to be done before 3 as I'm working at my other job tonight. That money will be going into DS1s college funds. Going to update my siggy to reflect the purchase of Morris. I've been brave and put it in the snowball which put us back to over 20k. Still broken through that barrier once, can do it again. Have to pick myself up and get prepared for whatever comes our way. Hopefully with the support off here and a place to vent and weep we'll be ok.

Good to hear you sounding so positive.

Hated showing an increase in debt on my siggy but at least it is a true reflection and as you say, you will break thru 20k again soon :)

Worked 7 hours last night and between 2 of us we did 102 and covers. Had the pipes in to bring in the haggis. Managed to get up this morning to take DS2 to the bus. Coach was supposed to arrive for 5 but didn't come till 5.30, another 5 mins and we were all off to the airport. So still sat in bed and not much going to be achieved today.

  • Oh god lucielle, what a roller coaster!

The school shouldn't be offering trips which are just a ridiculus cost. That's insane. I thought ours were bad at 600.

Eek to the house stuff like many don't know what to say I hope somehow it works out in a positive way (trying not to sound crap sorry).

Well done on so many covers! Even with the pipes too :)

Huge hug xx sorry been too crook to post until now. Xx

    Hi L

Gawd it sounds as if everything is happening at once. What a trial for you. As you say you'll re-focus and carry on.

I'm glad your son got off OK eventually. And re Iceland, are they booking a 5 star hotel??!!

Pay day today and its nearly all gone. Cleared my card from Christmas spends, got OHs to clear and then we're back on track. So only minimum payments to the rest. Day off tomorrow and I'm going to be a lady wot lunches. Meeting up with a friend, one of those friends where hours just whip away. Hoping to get some civilised (seville) oranges to make marmalade.

Works ok at the mo, trying to fit in the extra work and seem to be generating more in the process. Sigh.
