DOWNSIDE- i wanted to take orange phone insurance but they will not prvide it as its not there product ie generic phone

orange should still give you the insurance since you got the phone essentially from orange - how did they know it was unlocked?

even i got the unlocked sony k750i on orange network from e2save.On the other hand my friend who ordered the phone along with me got the locked version on same price plan.

when orange enter the mobile for registration it comes up a non orange badged phone.... ie what these companies are doing is buying there phones will nilly then buying packages off the companies

Why bother? A report in todays Metro says it not worth bothering with the insurance as there are so many exclusions. It is better to insure it as part of your house contents as there are less exclusions. From personal experience and other board users experience it does not seem worth it.
