Hi,

Though not life-threatening, the animated smilies on here are static on my home comp. I suspect that I have buggered up the internet settings somehow, if so, what have i ticked/unticked this time??

Under Multimedia, check if Play animations in web pages is ticked

Zonealarm can sometimes block these too.

I've had this problem too and when I got an update for some reason it reset everything ....................go into zonealarm and 'privacy' and 'ad blocking'

check that it hasn't blocked your animations........worth a try

The Trusted Sites workaround didn't work.

Am probably being a bit thick (have been painting all day and the fumes have got to me lol), but I don't understand what you mean in your last post about user cp??
