Doesn't get much clearer than that. Who wants to put in the first official complaint?

Does the Commission investigate all reports of alleged unlicensed and/or illegal activity?

The Commission’s resources are limited and we cannot investigate every complaint. Generally we use resources to investigate matters of:
• national or regional importance
• high risk to the licensing objectives
• high risk to the integrity of the licensing regime.
Enforcement action in respect of local issues is normally the responsibility of the relevant local authority, with the Commission providing advice and assistance as needed. A failure on the part of a local authority to take action on a report of unlicensed or illegal activity is not a reason for the Commission to adopt the matter. http://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/Client/detail.asp?ContentId=296

How to complain to the Commission

If you wish to complain you can do so in writing (post or fax), by email or by telephone to:
Complaints team
Gambling Commission
Victoria Square House
Victoria Square
Birmingham B2 4BP

Telephone: 0121 230 6666
Fax: 0121 230 6720
Email: complaints@gamblingcommission.gov.uk

I saw this on tele. The house is so old fashioned inside - clearly the highly patterned and colourful carpets are donkeys years old. The kitchen etc. as well.

If the couple had done it up to look nice - and considering they wanted £1million for it they should have - they would have sold it.

Also, £1million was too much for it.

They said that if they don't sell enough tickets the winner will get the cash collected after expenses!

Any answer to any question is available on t'internet pretty much. The question is a reasonable one and not of the Richard and Judy variety ie they would have asked how much is the million pound house in the million pound competition worth? If this house competition is illegal then all telephone phone in ones should also be illegal as they don't involve skill and you have to pay to enter which makes them a lottery rather than a competition surely?

Would adding a tie breaker make it more into the distinct competition rather than giving an impression of being a lottery?

Also if people do want to run lotteries for things then as long as they are fair and chosen entirely at random ie prizes don't go to relatives of the lottery runners then why should they be illegal in the first place? If the value of the prizes, chances of winning etc are clearly published along with the costs of entry and maximum entries and this is all above board then people have the choice to enter or not.

Probably got approval.... If its been done properly, and it looks like it has, They would have ticked all the boxes first.
"unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal " It was a Paypal business account, not personal.

If it's a business account do you suppose they are paying VAT? Don't you have to pay VAT on revenue above £67,000?

Whatever, the rules in this country - it's a lottery in the States - their blog states that they are going to be featured by CBS. It think promoting or participating in an illegal lottery in the US is a criminal offence?

The draw just crossed the 40000 ticket mark - only 6000 to go.

For all of you who have a bought a ticket I hope you are comfortable this lottery will be drawn by an 'old family friend'?

• Hi,

Saw this last night on CBS and in the papers today. I've read this thread and quite honestly what a bunch of whining kill-joys and barrack-room laywers you all are. Throw in £25 - what have you got to lose? (Other than £25). And the score is 45006 -just 954 more to go before Dec 8th.

I shall be watching the outcome with interest :p

Noticed you just joined to make this point.

You don't happen to be connected in any way to their self-promoting lawyer? (There is something unpleasant about lawyers touting for business don't you think?)
