You could still save much more money if you use an indie to service and replace those parts, assuming they needed to be replace. Dealer i hear often use the 90% worn on pads and disc a lot, so I wouldn't totally trust them.

Service from an indie would cost u about <£150. Air con regass £45 kwik fit. All discs and pads about £250-300 for parts and labour inc. If you do your research and take up many good advise on here then u will save alot more. U dont need genuine citroen parts, after market parts are just as good as mentioned by a few people.

Hi ArsenalFC, thanks for that. The aircon service is comprised of more than a regas though. They change some kind of filter I think - they explained it, but I didn't really understand.

I understand what you're saying, so really u should just get the service and air con service done at the dealer. If you get all the pads and discs change and that would help to reduce the cost of the service and air con, but this amount would be minimal compared what u would save if use a local garage to replace those parts.......I have to reliterate....if those parts needed replacement.

Well you'd excellent advices on here so its down to u whatever choice u make.

    Hi all,

    Originally, my garage charged:
    - £310 for front brakes and discs replaced.
    - £380 for rear brakes and discs replaced.

I got quotes from other Citroen garages:
    - £310 for front brakes and discs replaced.
    - £280 for rear brakes and discs replaced.

Notice the £100 difference in rear brakes and discs.

I queried this with the garages and their explanation was that the front pads/discs are larger and therefore the rear brakes are cheaper.

I thought I'd check the price of your discs and pads against those sold by Peugeot for the 407

The cost of the pads & discs for the front of the 407 comes to £184.48

For the rears it comes to 176.76.

Add in Labour and the difference in part prices between Pug & Citroen and you have your bill.
