No worries. It's only the Zero where we can do upto 95%. With the normal ones it's usually upto that 500 quid stopgap. If it's done right upto 100% of the credit limit, there's an overlimit fee - at least with ourselves.

Well you've got the same length 0% on purchases too so if there's something you need, the Zero might come in handy.

    Enjoy the card!

I applied on-line initially, never heard anything. Phoned up about 10 days later, did over the phone app. About 3 days later got two acceptance letters, for the two separate apps!!!

Oooh dear. That will affect your credit rating. Just send one back and ask the other one to be cancelled.

You need to call the customer services team or (post-sale) Applications to do that. They could also have tracked your application done originally. Never mind, just only send the acceptance pack for one, shred the other.

The last few days I think the backlog is clearing. People getting the acceptance letters in a few days. Even the cards are coming through quicker after account activates. Touch wood it will stay that way.

I've taken a break from my pre-race build up in Germany this weekend to answer some queries. Thanks for the heads up. :)

I have written to the Underwriters with proof of a higher credit limit.
Not that it matters now as I opened an Ulster card with 0% BT fee.

I was amazed at the speed from Abbey though.

I too have had awful CS from them in the past and was expecting the same.
Obviously my lottery ticket came up as I applied in branch (seems to be the key) and got accepted straight away.
The PIN, card and the BT all happened inside one week!

I got a reply from the underwriters after about 5 days. They have doubled my initial limit from £3k to £6k.

So if your initial credit limit is too low then write to them with proof of a higher one.

Got a letter turning down my application this weekend :(

Is it worth asking them to reconsider? I'd cleared off and closed a couple of cards a couple of mnths prior to applying but they're not yet showing as settled on credit files. I know, I know I should have waited but "impatience" is my middle name ;):o

Just annoyed that I've had a wasted search, second one this year, and worried it might impact on my credit rating :(

  • I applied on the phone and got accepted. 3 weeks later nothing heard so I called and was told my application had been abandoned. Pretty miffed I filled out the complaint form online. Some weeks later got the paperwork for acceptance, sent off the forms which got returned 2 weeks later. Then got a second acceptance letter which I ignored. Then a PIN letter arrives - but with no pin in - just blank under the rip off flap. Called CS - guy did not have a clue - told me I had to scratch it off

Card arrived few days ago so called for a new PIN, it arrived this morning.

Next day letter arrives saying they have not recieved any paperwork from me and my application will be cancelled. Called and the guy said - must be a mistake, just throw it away......

Not sure where I stand with this card now but it seems OK, got logged onto the card site - it seemed to have all the info - will try the BT tomorrow - see how we get on.

Sounds like some wires have been well and truly crossed somewhere.

It sounds OK now. Just ignore the agreement that you got again. Unless there's a second application on there, and if so, ask customer services to cancel that.
