Eiderdown for dogs
I have an old feather eiderdown that I would like to use for the dog's baskets but it is obviously too large. I'd like to cut it into quarters and make four quilts for them. Any ideas because I don't want to cover the room in feathers.

which is more economic gas or electric?
I used to have a gas cooker which I loved, gas hob, oven and grill, all heated up immediately and a pleasure to cook with. I now have an awful electric oven and grill (since I moved house) which take 20 min or so to heat up and I'm sure contribute greatly to our massive fuel bill. The oven burns everything on top while…

Rotary clothes airer in a parasol base
I did a quick search but couldn't find anything, so here goes. I don't have anywhere I could concrete a rotary clothes airer into the ground, and I don't see it ever happening anyway. I'm sure I've heard it suggested that you can put one of these into a parasol base, suitably weighted. Has anyone tried it? does it work?…

Help! Can't get stain out
I've got a lovely pale blue cotton jumper that I managed to wear about twice and got a stain on it - the problem is, I don't know what exactly the stain is, I just noticed it halfway through the workday when all I'd done was sit at my desk! I've tried washing it loads of times, used an all-purpose stain devil on it,…
