I found this while browsing the latest offering from lakeland
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!21062
A wicker basket for £4.99 it has a cover and is lined inside.
A new OS badge
I have not seen it in the flesh but I think I will get one next time I go to lakeland.
Takes me back to being at school taking my ingredients for home ec in my mothers.

I've got a nice wicker basket that I bought in Betws y Coed a few years ago. I love it to bits. I use it for shopping in Tesco and the farmshop, carrying baking to school (I feel like Red Riding Hood:rotfl: ) and taking the bottles to the bottle bank.
Mine cost a tenner though, so the Lakeland one looks good value0 -
ooh we had that type 50 years ago. Used it for cookery and shopping. It is fantastic value. I got a whicker basket at a county show 30 years ago and I LOVE it. It makes a lovely decoration on top of the kitchen cupboards when I`m not using it. Expensive (relatively) then but worth every penny
remember when gondola baskets were in fashion?0 -
Wow! I had one of those for school cookery lessons!
I remeber they were great for packing the ingredients and finished offerings in but I hated the way it always snagged my tights... maybe I should have been wearing a longer skirtMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

That looks like a really good price. I have a similar one in the bathroom that was originally used as a nappy basket, but now holds toiletries. The handle's beginning to fray, so I'd love a new one. Unfortunately we don't have Lakeland here.

Thanks thriftylady........I'll have alook at that. Usually the postage on cheaper items doesn't make it worthwhile. Maybe I could find some other things to order to make it worth my while.
