Nationwide Basic Mortgage Rate
Hi folks, my fixed rate mortgage of 4.97% ends in January with Nationwide. I got a letter last month advising my new payment would in crease by £86 based on the BMR being 6.19% - is BMR the same as variable rate? Incidentally I have had 3 requests from them in as many weeks telling me to take up a new fixed rate now etc.…

Endowment
We have an endowment which is due to mature in 2011, at the moment it is on track to pay out the full value. My question is what will happen now with the market the way it is, should we leave it in or should we cash it in now.

90% deals almost evaporated - BBC
This story on the BBC website (link) says that there are only 66 deals available at 90% compared with 586 three months ago and 1,197 in February. Sounds  doesn't it? Fear not, most homebuyers only need ONE mortgage so there are still 65 superfluous 90% deals available. GG

A quick question re: overpaying C & G lifetime tracker mortgage....
Hi folks... Just been on the phone to C & G to hold payments at the pre 1.5% base rate cut on my lifetime tracker mortgage (ie. to effectively overpay in order to reduce the term of the mortgage)... However, the person on the end of the phone could not tell me how this overpayment would effect the term of the mortgage...…

Fixed or Tracker Dilemma?
I have read that some people are saying the recession/low BoE rate may be around for 12-24months. The decision for me, I suppose, is that if the BoE stayed at approx. 3% for time stated above, and with Libor rates supposedly coming down further soon, would a fixed deal ever come below 4% for 3/5years, and if so should I…

Nationwide mortgage
Hi - we have a NR mortgage finishing in December. We started the process of remortgaging in August with Nationwide - they originally offered us a fixed rate of 6.23%. However, due to the cuts in their SVR and NR's we questioned whether we could go onto their base rate instead as otherwise we would be better off for the…

Quick question hopefully! We have a mortgage with Oakwood Homeloads, they bought it from GMAC. Thoughts - Tracker vs Fixed Rate
I have a decision to make and I'm note sure which way to jump! I've seen the HSBC tracker at 0.99% above BOE base rate - currently 3.99%. Everyone keeps talking about the BOE rates going lower which is a good thing with a tracker. However, an IFA friend has suggested BOE rates will bottom out soon and start rising again so…

Mortgage Balance After Transfer - Remortgage
We have just remortgaged to HSBC from A&L. The balance that was transferred from A&L earlier this week and now shows up in my HSBC account looks to be the amount of the mortgage balance, plus October's interest, plus redemption fee, but without the deduction of October's payment to A&L. It was a direct debit and went out…
