Need to empty cesspit ? Any one know ?
I have looked in the cesspit and it seems quite full and thankfully appears to be just water. I have put some eco-friendly stuff in it some weeks ago that eats up the unmentionable. Save money on wood fuel by stocking up now
I already mentioned this in another thread, but as it could save people money I thought it would be worth starting a new one. Advice on chopping logs for wood stove
I have well over five tonnes of wood that I've felled from my garden, and am in the process of chainsawing it to size and storing it for a year or two of seasoning. The chainsaw is fine for chopping up logs that are less than say, 10cm in diameter. However, some of the wood is tree trunks, which are more than twice this…

Plausible science-fiction energy ideas
There's currently a really good debate on here about our current and near-future energy strategies, dealing with wind, solar, tidal, nuclear etc. I thought it would be fun and interesting to start a separate thread for speculation on viable energy sources a bit further into the future, say 50-100 years, for the whole…
