Thank you gifts for mothers of the bride and groom!
I am having a real struggle with finding presents for my mum and mother in law.... Neither can have flowers for different reasons and I have around £30 to spend on each so not a huge budget. I really don't like anything tacky and unfortunately most wedding gift companies are full of it! One problem is that my mother in law…

Wedding Table Gems
We are having a small pretty flower arrangement in a gold fish bowl on our tables but my fiance is against the mirrors (sadly!) however I did want to buy some gems to scatter on the tables...Would you scatter them over the organza that will go across the table? Normally I see them scattered on the mirror but we are…

I've just ordered my dress!
I'm not getting married until August 2013 but I have been trying to be very organised, I have tried about 20-25 dresses and knew that this one was 'the one' when I first tried it on. I went back this morning to try it once more and I absolutely love it, so the deposit was paid straight away. Only 12 weeks to wait and it…

Foam/silk bouquet & posy recommendations please
Hi folks :) I was hoping to do my own (fresh) flowers but with 5 weeks to go I am already getting a bit ill as my disability is playing up & my immune system is not behaving (grr!) I have looked online a bit for ready-made bouquets (not enough time to get made to order now) but wondered if you ladies & gents had any info,…

Confetti
Confetti - are you having any? If so where are you getting it? I'm looking at either paper or freeze dried rose petals. I'm really keen on a 'confetti shot' and my photographer says paper or light coloured petals work best. (I would have natural coloured, not dyed, so the colour doesn't run.) I'd prefer separate packs for…

Wedding Present - Cash
Hi All, I've 2 wedding coming up for friends of mine and I plan to give both parties cash, what is a respectable amount? I'm not in the good books with one of my friends as I went missing for most of their pre wedding party weekend (the demon drink) so I'm determined to get this right. Thanks in advance

How many venues to look at?
Hi everyone! I recently got engaged :) and am hoping to get married in 2014 (nothing more exact than that yet). The only thing we…

Wedding gowns from China.
Thought I'd give you guys the heads up re gowns from china. Suspect this means e bay too. One of my fellow designers has had her gowns held at customs because of the major problem with China and copyright over UK designer dresses. Hong Kong Customs have held onto her wedding dresses even though they are her original…

What have you done / got left to do?
Off the cuff of another thread... just wondered what stage we're all at? How long have you got to go until the big day? What have you done so far? What have you got left to do? Do you think you started organising too early or too late? I think it'll be interesting to see the to do lists of the ladies who don't have long…

Photographer recommendation - East Midlands
I just wanted to recommend our wedding photographers: http://www.fatcatcreations.co.uk/index.html They are a female & male team who worked amazingly hard on our wedding - the sneak peeks I have seen so far are fab! They arrived at 10:30am and stayed until after our first dance. They were unobtrusive and fantastic in every…

Should I invite my mother...?
I am in a total predicament with my family and my wedding and I don't know what to do. My mother is a complete nightmare and we haven't talked in almost two years. Book registrar or venue first?
My oh and I have been looking at venues and nearly two weeks ago provisionally booked our venue. It's on hold for 2 weeks whilst we sorted out the catering estimates so we could work out we can afford it. Today I was going to call and book the venue officially, but realised I hadn't looked into the registrar side of…
