Cclener v adblock stopper
Having recently installed ccleaner, I find it stops adblock plus working, and as soon as ccleaner is removed, adblock start again. Opening ccleaner> etc, dosen't give an opportunity to untick adblock, so I've removed it until I can find an alternative cleaner, or an adblock stopper that won't be affected by either cleaner,…

Any ideas how to remove surf safely?
My son has managed to download surf safely and I am having trouble removing it. Kaspersky seems to flag up and remove it but then it is still there. On googling there are a lot of sites claiming to remove it if you download their tool, but I am reluctant to download any of these without a recommendation from someone who…

Dead PC - Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you are...
.... my only hope. Oh poo. Dead PC. Basically stops during the boot sequence, comes up with the repair option. I've tried the repair option a few times and it is unable to repair the PC. I've tried the System Restore (again a few times) both via the PC and a bootable pen (USB) drive (with my OS on). Each time the system…

Where to buy good quality cheap ink cartridges
I have an Epson SX535WD printer - can someone suggest a good place to buy cheap cartridges which are of a good quality? A set of Epson originals is around £40, which is madness given how little time these last. On Ebay I bought five compatible sets for £9, so about £2 a set! These work for a bit, but the printer often…

Remedial maths lesson needed at HP
I've just had an email from HP to tell me all about the bargains for students in their online store. The tab headed Top 5 Laptops for Students shows 3 products, while Top 5 Desktops for Students gets a bit closer with 4. Do we think this is a failure within the HP organisation, or are they trying to say something…

Any laptop deals? Budget ~ £350
Replacing a 5 yr old machine that is slowly dying. Would like i5 processor, 1TB HD, 6G RAM. Needs to be carried round a lot, so lightweight would be good, don't really need a Disc drive as I have an external one, so thinking that one without would be lighter. I have been happy with Toshiba before, so happy to go that way…

Compatible toners?
I wondered what your views were on compatible toners and if there is any good place to get them from. I have to get a new colour laser printer and, I have found a decent one but the original long yield toners are around £90 each and the standard ones £60. Clearly it makes more sense to get the long yield but for the price…

Still procrastinating
I'm after my first tablet and after procrastinating for ages finally settled on a Nook HD+ 32gb refurb which seems a great price. I'd seen the threads on the Nook on here and it seems just what I wanted (don't need a camera on it). However I've dithered too long and they now only have the 16gb version available so now I…
