Converting VOB Files
I am looking to upload some video footage to the web but it is in VOB format so large (0.9Gb). Can anyone tell me about any free software for converting it to more friendly file sizes/formats such as MPEG/DIVx? Many thanks.

I have just installed a game (dawn of War) which needs the cd in to run. However when I try to start the game up comes up with the message: Spooge driver not found. Verify that DirectX is properly installed. (which it is) any ideas anyone?

Best laptop to buy for £500 - £550?
I see Dell have got an offer on a 6100 laptop for £550 and there's a similar HP one in the paper today and Dabs have a Compaq. All more or less the same spec and price. Any opinions on the best buy at around this price. General use only no specific requirements to be taken into account.

My friend has had pop up ads since I sent an email attachment of some sound files I made myself (audio recordings made on a camera). We haven't had any pop ups. Is it possible that I sent them to her? How else could she have gotten them? I suggested Spybot as a cure. Was that good advice?
