Pop-ups

My friend has had pop up ads since I sent an email attachment of some sound files I made myself (audio recordings made on a camera).

We haven't had any pop ups.

Is it possible that I sent them to her?

How else could she have gotten them?

I suggested Spybot as a cure. Was that good advice?

If all you did was send her an email attachment of audio files then no, it's extremely unlikely you caused anything.

There are any number of possible causes. Can you give some information on when it occurs (i.e. startup/when you go online?), does she have broadband and if so how is she connected - directly via a USB modem or via a separate router? When you say pop ups I assume these are Internet Explorer windows?

Spybot is always good advice, even if it doesn't solve the specific problem
