University ups and downs
What do others think of the use of post grad tutors for undergraduate classes? Is it a good idea or is it just cheap poorly trained labour that mean the learning experience is reduced? I personally am not sure as there are rubbish Lecturer/ fellow tutors as well as poor post grad tutors. But I know many feel it is a let…

Claiming back tax from parental contributions?
This might be a long shot, but since students don't pay tax (like charities), can we claim back the income tax our parents pay when they give us support cash, like the Gift Aid scheme allows charities to? It's worth 22p for every pound so it's not to be sniffed at. Anyone know if this is possible? Cheers -laurenced

how do 21000 graduates carry on paying student loans after the value has been repaid?
Am i being thick, or what? Under the old scheme, the student loans company takes your repayment via direct debit? So if they write to you to say you are coming to the end of your loan, why don't they amend the last payment and stop it from then on? And if they're taking it via tax, surely there must be a way of getting the…

Should i save/invest my student loan?
Hi there! I'm in the somewhat rare position of being a student who is in credit! I've never used my overdraft and have a p/t job, so I find that my student loan is largely untouched. As I'm now in my final year, I'm wondering I should really take advantage of the loan's low interest rate as well as the 0% overdraft to…

Where to start?
Hi everyone, I have read a lot of great advice on this website and the forums, so thank you Martin and everyone who contributes, I've already found huge savings in various places. However I'm a bit lost as to where to start with it all. I'll list a rough idea of my details. This is my 6th year of 7 at university, when I…
