Why do FTSE All-Share index funds include non-UK companies?
Why do FTSE All-Share index funds include non-UK companies? For example, 4.5% in Europe (mostly Ireland) and small amounts in all other regions of the world.

IFA Fees. Is this too much or about average?
I’m in the process of finding an IFA with a view to investing a lump sum of circa £250K. The IFA whom I have had an initial meeting with has quoted a set up fee of £7,500 plus annual costs of 1.8% which would include his fees and fees to two other companies which he uses, namely Square Mile and AJ Bell. This seems rather a…

Some questions about a portfolio which someone has shared
The following is what an investment YouTuber (George Gammon) says he has in his portfolio: 10% gold (as "insurance") 80% investments ("something which pays me to own it") 10% speculative assets ("things which don't necessarily pay me. eg: Uranium, gold miners, juniors, bitcoin") What are your thoughts on this portfolio (or…

Trailing Buy Limit
Does anyone know of a UK stockbroker or trading platform that offers a trailing buy limit to customers? This is the inverse of a trailing stop loss. The limit is placed slightly higher than the current stock price and follows the price down in a falling market, keeping a fixed margin above the current price. When the price…

NS&I: security call not working
My wife tried to access her NS&I account this morning but once she logged in, it asked her to answer a security call. The phone number looked correct from what we could see, but the call never came. Ultimately this means she cannot access her account. Has anyone else experienced this issue and what is the best way to…

Principality Building Society and Faster Payments
Good to know that withdrawals can be requested over the weekend on a Saturday and even a Sunday and will be in your nominated account that same day as along as they are requested before 3.30pm. Must be one of the very few building societies that offer this service.

SWDA Currency
I am really leaning towards SWDA but i'm confused on it's currency. On the Hargreaves Lansdown website, it says the currency is GBX, however, when I look on the key factsheet, it says the Fund Base Currency is USD and it's Share Class Currency is also USD, yet it's Trading Currency is GBP. Would that then require be to pay…

Keeping cash in an iWeb S&S ISA
I can, of course, keep cash in the S&S ISA, where it will sit and not do anything. I would like to do this as I don't want to take money out of my ISA but want cash ready to pounce in the event of volatility over the coming months. Is there a better way of keeping cash in a S&S ISA? There is no 'cash ISA' option once it's…

An app to optimise regional index fund holdings
A few threads have been started recently (one by me,
multiple by GaryMSE) about which index funds provide the allocations you want
between regions. It would be great to have an app where you tap in your desired
allocations and it tells you which combination of funds/ETFs will get you there. It could let you adjust for…

Halifax Kids Regular Maturity 13th payment.
Daughters Halifax Kids Monthly Saver matures 13th August. If she makes her 13th payment on the 1st of August, does this payment get transferred out on maturity with the rest of the funds to the Kids Saver or would this payment (£100) remain in the account and count as the start of the following year? Thanks.
