thematic investing
hi... so another type of investment i am considering is in thematics sector. i can see things like automation, cleaner energy, healthcare, security etc being areas where it will always be looking to improve in the future. again, as with anything i'd see this as a much longer term bet. i am therefore thinking of investing…

Financial advice/insights blogs/videos
Thought I would start a thread, and see what people use to read up on investment advice. It can range from discussions on brokers, interest accounts, stock picks and so on. I can’t say myself that I have ever found one I particularly like or is accurate, especially from YouTube/Reddit, and it is slightly concerning the…

Are we seeing a slow rise in interest rates on savings accounts?
Was going to go for a 0.75%, then saw 0.85, 0.9% (which I have now locked in). There is now a 1% fixed bond now, so I'm wondering if this is the trend or just blip?

Sharesave or ISA or pension?
A friend has asked me for advice on whether to opt in to their workplace Sharesave scheme. This is with SSE and they are being offered an option price of around a 20% reduction in the current share price - for either a 3 or 5 year term. I've not been involved with such a scheme in the past, but it appears a good way to…

NSI Index linked bond calculator showing "zero" value?
Hi all, not really a major issue but we have a couple of the old NSI index linked bonds that we have been renewing for a few years. Every month the NSI website is updated so that you can type in the original value, CPI or RPI, and the bond start date and it should show the current value. For some reason for the last 2…

Dividend distributions
I have a couple of M&G OEIC funds, both accumulation which I have recently received notification of a dividend DISTRIBUTION for the last year.
