Dividend distributions

I have a couple of M&G OEIC funds, both accumulation which I have recently received notification of a dividend DISTRIBUTION for the last year. I have always thought that these distributions should be added as part of the £2000 dividend allowance, but have recently seen that this may be incorrect and should be added to the £1000 PSA. Can anyone confirm or otherwise?

If the distributions are actually dividends then the £2,000 dividend allowance applies. Some funds, particularly those with for example a high proportion of bonds, will pay interest and not dividends and therefore the various interest allowances (starting rate for savings, personal savings allowance etc) will apply
