Transfer CTF to Junior ISA for non-UK resident

  I'm a UK citizen now resident in Germany (2 years) - my daughter who is 13 has a Child Trust Fund since birth and it is still with the original provider and performing horribly. I've checked with HMRC and we are allowed to transfer it to a Junior ISA despite the fact that we are no longer UK residents. However my first few enquiries to potential new funds have been rebuffed - they require the account holder to be a UK resident. Anyone know of any Junior ISA providers we could use?

It sounds like you’ll need to go through call centre queue hell with HMRC again and get them to confirm, give you chapter & verse with some references to specifically where in the CTF/JISA rules it is permitted to transfer to a JISA if the beneficiary is not a UK resident. Or just go through every single JISA provider until you find one that says yes. I would expect top returns outside of one or two building societies though, presuming you’re just going for a Junior Cash ISA. Have a look at savingschampion.co.uk for the top 5 current best buys.
