Brexit deal currency movements
Another nice start to the day with our global investments up around 1% to achieve new highs but does anyone else have the feeling of impending doom that we might just be about to agree a brexit deal and the pound will shoot up to 1.40 USD or higher? How far to go down in a no deal scenario maybe 1.15 USD? Last week I…

Vanguard Website
On the overview page of the Vanguard website, there are three vertical dots on the right hand side of your investment. When clicking on these, there are some options - BUY SELL and SWITCH. I'd like to understand the purpose of the switch option. If it is 'to switch your fund to another', than how does this option differ…

LISA Newbie
Hi All, My Son's Child Trust Fund is due to come to an end as he turns 18 soon. Am trying to make sense of whether its worth him having a LISA with Forester or a S&S ISA with someone like Vanguard. I have read just now that a LISA can be a S&S LISA also, and that the yearly limit is £4k with a government added contribution…

Bitcoin
I've researched this as a means of funding a new car, holiday etc NOT to become a millionaire (you probably have to gamble thousands for that). I've also read the scam articles about Martin, This Morning etc so know the pitfalls. However after a bad year Bitcoin seems to be recovering so is it still worth it for the basic…

JISA’s
Hi all, I hold JISA’s for both of my children, they are two and six years of age. Realistically they won’t be needing them until they are around 20+ years of age so enough time to grow and compound hopefully. My issue is that we are currently holding them inside cash JISA’s as we are very risk averse with the money held…

Halifax saving account prize draw ...odds?
Following a health scare earlier this year and being self employed I decided I need a ‘sick fund’ but where to put it? I know interest rates are not good, so I know I’m not going to get much. Halifax has a savings account that doubles as a prize draw when you have £5000 in it. my question is which would be better, odds…

Switching from Vanguard LS to ETFs on Fidelity
I’m currently using Fidelity to hold my SIPP, which is mainly in Vanguard LS 100 (with a few ETFs such as Scottish Mortgage and Smithson on the side) However, the fund is now around £100k which means I am paying around £350 pa just in account fees so I was looking at switching into a low cost world ETF to benefit from the…

Nationwide Mutual Reward Bond and Mutual Reward e-Bond
Apologies if this has already been posted, I didn’t a quick search but couldn’t find anything. Not the greatest interest rate going (0.5% fixed for 18 months), the real draw, if you’ll pardon the pun, is the £10000 prize draw, almost seems worth a punt, only downside I can see is that you have to have been a Nationwide…
