I wish to have such misfortune too. If you would prefer not to have them I would be a willing recipient. :D

Sorry, I couldn't resist replying, but unfortunately I cannot help. :)
“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.”   Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway

Perhaps you should think what "inheriting" implies ?

OP, in what form have you inherited teh shares? certificates They are with a UK broker? A US one? Do you want the shares or would you rather have the money? Who is dealing with the estate?

    And my commiserations.

so you are really just going to let them go, and not even respond to AnotherJoe?
many of us own US shares as UK nationals, and there shouldn't be anything insurmountable.

    Letting them go???

    How much are they worth?

£50 I can understand walking away.
£50,000 it's worth jumping through multiple hoops
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)
  • Medallion stamp is about £280 plus may need a few notarisations, say about £30, so £300 would be nearer the minimum threshold

If you're resuscitating this thread, it would be worth going back and answering the questions you were asked above by @AnotherJoe, which would otherwise need to be repeated....
