NS&I customer service is so BAD.
I have been trying to get my 16 year old daughter registered for premium bonds for 4 months now. NS&I have a strategy of ignoring all your letters, and making it practically impossible to get through on the phone. I was waiting 90 minutes (yes 90 minutes !) last week and managed to register a complaint with them..but since…

TrueLayer
I'm setting up a new account with Tandem. To register a nominated bank account you are redirected to TrueLayer with a message "your account will be accessed on a recurring basis". This allows them to see all your transactions. I feel very uncomfortable about this. Can they be trusted?

NS&I utter disgrace
Hello I want to
share my experience over the past month and a half. You will
be fully aware of the many issues plastered all over the media, over websites
like trustpilot and on Martin's site along with many articles. And the CEOs
words. I cannot
put into words what an utter disgrace my whole experience has been since…

VWRL ETF, VEVE or Global All Cap - or other? VLS accompaniment
Hi all I have a fair holding of VLS80 and a bit of VLS100 through Vanguard's own platform, all in an S&S ISA. I'm looking to diversify a bit as the UK (and perhaps US) company weighting of these funds is a bit higher than I'd like. So, considering adding a bit of VWRL ETF (0.22% OCF), Global all cap fund (0.23% OCF) or…

Possible fraudulent new EIS
Over on Bond Review there is news that a newly launched EIS might be fraudulently claiming it has EIS status when it hasn't. We don't know who it is but be careful if you are investing in a new scheme. https://bondreview.co.uk/2020/11/05/blind-item-which-eis-scheme-is-fraudulently-claiming-advance-assurance-it-hasnt-got/…

Offsetting Mortgage
My wife and I are about to receive £150000 lump sum. We have a £190000 mortgage. We know absolutely nothing about investing. Whilst we will pay some of our mortgage down we can’t totally clear it & are also loath to use all the money paying it down as it would be good to have some spends & a emergency fund. What are…

Negative interest rates
Hello, I've seen a few reports that the BoE is more than considering introducing negative interest rates. I have a feeling it might happen January/February. I have a 5 figure sum in a Nationwide savings account, left over from when I purchased my home in 2014. I don't add to it, although it has had a small amount of…

son has my savings
back in 2916 I put 16000 in my sons bank account for him to keep for me so I didn’t use it as I wanted it for my retirement then we had a argument over my grandson in November 2019 and in March I asked my son in a text message to transfer my savings as due to the locked down coming I needed to use some of it and he…

Recommended broker for shares (not funds)?
I've been with the Share Centre for some years but have just fallen out with them over their handling of their error so am considering switching. Any recommendations please? Or ones to avoid, come to that. (I'm disappointed that this site concentrates on funds - I'm interested in individual shares here.) I'm after : 1 low…

HSBC global strategy balanced or HSBC adventurous
Considering investing 1000 into one of these 2 but can’t decide which. Tempted to the adventurous but it’s so new and although past performance can never tell future I wonder is if worth a risk. Has anyone else (ad)ventured into it?

Anyone had problems with Yorkshire BS?
Beware investing with them. Unfortunately I did. Nowhere on application form for Six Access e-Saver could I see place for putting nominated bank for withdrawals. I called and was told not to worry, there would be when I made initial deposit, so stupidly I did, but still nowhere to put bank details. So I called again, she…

Power of Attorney and Investment
Hi All, I'm hoping someone can provide some sound advice. I am Power of Attorney for my mother who is in residential care and unable to make decisions for herself. NS & I incompetence
Transferred a cash ISA from NS&I to my shares ISA with Hargreaves Lansdown. Well, I thought I had, until the payment disappeared. Checking my inbox, this is why ... I wonder how long for the replacement cheque? It isn't a large cheque, three figures, so no impact on my share investing really. Just a tidy up as no point…

Zopa Savings not MSE recommended?
I notice that MSE does not seem to include Zopa in its top rate savings account listings. Does anyone know why? I am concerned as I open a Zopa savings 1 year fixed account about one month ago. My first time posting - please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Thank you.
