Recommended broker for shares (not funds)?

Options
I've been with the Share Centre for some years but have just fallen out with them over their handling of their error so am considering switching. Any recommendations please? Or ones to avoid, come to that. (I'm disappointed that this site concentrates on funds - I'm interested in individual shares here.)
I'm after :
1  low cost for S&S ISA worth below £100k, trading around twice a month
2  simplicity of use on desktop pc (mobile app not required)
3  access to basic share information - price charts etc. Share Centre also summarise broker views and give their own on FTSE100 shares
4  access to New York SE desirable but not essential (I've never taken the plunge, but I might.)
Presumably they all offer dummy accounts so I can try them out before committing.
Thanks for any suggestions.

iWeb would cost you £25 to setup and £10 a month going off that information.
2  simplicity of use on desktop pc (mobile app not required)
iWeb - it's not flashy, but it just works
3  access to basic share information - price charts etc. Share Centre also summarise broker views and give their own on FTSE100 shares
iWeb... but surely you would research the co
yourself and are not dependant on data that your broker has decorated for you?

iWeb - I hold TSLA and BRK.B in my iWeb account, works fine

    Not iWeb
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Don’t bother with dummy accounts, most ‘brokers’ that offer dummy accounts also offer CFDs and spread-betting. They are riddled with implicit charges and don’t promote the good type of buy n hold investing but instead want their clients to trade as frequently as possible so they max up their implicit fees as much as possible.

Iweb. Not had any issues with them £25 to sign up. £5 per trade. Low cost , no frills.  I use Iweb for dealing , and other websites for research.

Iweb is good, but might take a few days for the account to be setup, it's a no frills, but once you get started it's fine.

  • I've just been offered £ compensation from the Share Centre - better late than never. They're about to be taken  over (?) by interactive investor so I'll hang on on with them for now and see how we get on in future. It's good to have a Plan B should I need it, so thanks for all your replies.
