Transferring sharesave to ISA
I exercised shares in a company sharesave scheme in February and transferred them to a stocks and shares trading account. I have requested that the provider now transfer some of them into a shares ISA using a 90 day transfer which would mean the transferred shares are protected from CGT, and also provided them with a…

House Sale Money
Hi I have over £20000 sitting in my savings account paying 0.1% interest. Would it be better moving it to a savings account paying a higher interest rate and if so where would be best? I can't see us moving and needing the money for at least 3 months due to current circumstances. Thanks

Hi all I have a small amount (£1000) that I would like to set aside for my son, aged 8, until at he is at least 18. I plan to add around £100 per month to it. I know these are pretty uncertain times, but just wondering if there are any strong feelings about whether to go for a Cash ISA (eg Coventty 3.6% AER variable) or to…

Transfer from Company SIP to S&S ISA(or not)
Hi I have just transferred companies and have 90 days to move shares from my previous employers' Share Incentive Plan otherwise they will sell them and forward the proceeds to me. I thought the rules had changed and I could now transfer directly into a S&S ISA rather than sell/repurchase? It's proving difficult to get the…

Nationwide Future Saver (child account) rate drop
I could not see this mentioned elsewhere, rate reductions due on lots of Nationwide accounts including the Future Saver which was up to 3.5% and from May 1st will be a paltry 1%. It's odd how a BoE rate reduction of 0.65% causes a 2.5% drop in savings accounts.…

In hindsight where would you have put your money?
If 3 years ago you had been handed £100,000 and now knowing everything that has transpired where would you have put that money on the understanding you would still have to hold it today and for another 2 years? Not specific stocks, shares, bonds, funds, properties but which general saving and investment sector or sectors. For…
