Lump Sum to Invest - House Renovation or Savings?
How would you invest a lump sum of money if you already owned your own home outright? The amount in question would afford a second house as a renovation project, with the potential to 'add value' and resell. Or leave it in the building society where it earns 1% interest?

Savings options - what would you do?
If you had say 50k, what would you do with it for the next 12, 18 or 24 months? Ignoring the current account game, the most atrractive options I tink are Aldermore's 1 year fixed at 2%, their 2 year fixed at 2.35% or Halifax's Online tracker bond at 2%. Unless I have missed other options, what would fellow savers do on…

Is it now good timing to invest? Or should I wait?
It has been really volatile lately on the market. We r about to invest 90k combined cash and SS ISA into funds with 80% equity. Is it a good timing, or should I wait a bit when the turmoil is finished. Again, I know it's a guess work, just curious on others' opinion :j Thanks!

I have about a few hundred quid worth of Barclays shares, with dividends paid direct into my bank account (not with Barclays). Two days ago I received a letter by ProSearch, saying they had been instructed by Barclays to trace me as a cheque sent to me in 2013 regarding optional shares I didn't take on, had not been…

Hi, I want to setup the "60 second 5% savings loophole" but am unsure what amount of time is acceptable to apply for 9 different current accounts (“So let's imagine you want to open three Bank of Scotland, two Nationwide FlexDirect*, two TescoBank and two TSB Classic Plus*accounts to earn over 4% on up to £15,000.") Do you…

This correction-type thingy...
Do you reckon it's got the feel of a crash on the way? There seem to be a lot of people trying to talk us into a big drop and, it has to be said, there are a lot of very major issues swirling around globally. I'm ready with ISA cash to invest and I'm absolutely useless with any attempt to time things but I must say my…

Henderson UK & Irish Smaller Companies
I have been invested in this fund for some years now, in the last 12 months it is up 1.9%, under performing it's benchmark which was up 6.5%. I noticed that some platforms advise switching to an alternative fund because of it's recent poor performance. I tend to stick with funds in the past in the hope that they will come…

Cash - Buying a house vs Investing
My wife and I have come into some money and were wondering what the most sensible thing to do with it is. We are currently renting but have enough to buy a house now if we wanted to.
