"Clean" version not available
I wonder if anyone can give any information on this isse for me? My OH has had a small amount in the Franklin MENA fund for a while (as part of his sipp investments). He would like to add to this, but the platform will not allow it because: a) its a 'dirty' fund, so he can't buy new units of that type b) there is no 'clean…

Active vs. Passive. When and Where?
I am interested to know what everyone's thoughts are on the active vs. passive debate. When do you think passive wins out and when should you look for funds ran by someone who knows what they are doing? I feel like the general consensus is that passive funds are great for things like getting exposure to mature markets like…

Investing for Children
I am looking to invest a regular modest sum for our new baby. It will probably only be around the £20 mark each month, plus gifts. The aim is to build a useful fund once DS gets to a responsible age, so something like 20 years. What are my options please? I am not risk averse as long as the risks are not excessive.

Savings restrictions
For reasons beyond my control (work) I can't hold accounts with RBS/Natwest. As such I have my main current account which my salary is paid into with Barclays and a bills/savings account with Santander (the 123 account so I have cashback on bills and still benefit from interest). I also have a Barclays savings account and…

Saviungs accounts that allow creation of standing orders
Hi, I will shortly be living off a lump sum. The lump sum will be sitting in a easy access type savings account and I want to pay myself a monthly wage via standing order. 17.5k, need a decent Interest rate
Hey guys, I've got 17,500 in my Barclays current account at present that I'm wanting to put into an account that pays a good Interest rate. I've had a look around and seen most ISA's are only offering 2% or below. I'm looking at Santander with their 3% (2.4% after tax) which seems my best bet. I don't really want to leave…

Currency Exchanging NZD-USD-GBP
I have a considerable sum of New Zealand Dollars, i tried to be clever and wait until after the election to trade them into Sterling as like most i was expecting a hung parliament and since then they've lost 7-8% of their value vs Sterling. The NZ central bank is expected to lower interest rates in July thus the NZD is…

5% up to £5000 - What if I go over?
Okay. This may be a very stupid question. Possibly the stupidest I've ever asked. But.. Bank of Scotland are offering 5% interest on balances up to £5,000 and 0% over that. Does that mean if I have, say, £7,000 in the account I earn £0 in interest? Or do I still get 5% interest on the £5,000 and then just 0% on the extra…
