NHS Pension & Government changes
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about possible changes to the tax free lump sum we get upon retirement. At the moment it is tax free but I have been told this may change in 2015, where it will be taxed. I have been working in the NHS for 37yrs and can't afford to loose any of it. Thanks

I wonder if anyone can help with a question over selling shares. I have got some that pay a quarterly dividend which I reinvest back in rather than take the income. I'm looking to sell the shares and there is a distribution date of November 30. They were ex-Divi in October. If I sell now would I lose the extra shares that…

say you had 100 grand
I was just thinking, if you had 100 grand sat in the bank, you'd probably be gaining 2000 a year in interest. however if you bought a small flat with that money you'd be able to rent it out for about 550 where i am and that is 6600 a year. is it no wonder many people want a buy to let property instead of leaving the money…

Maturing Term Deposit could be issued by cheque- Not I hope!

Dow Jones Breaks 16000
The Dow has broken 16000 and is at record levels closely followed by the S&P 500 heading above 1800. These markets are being driven by the FED`s printing of billions of dollars each month to buy worthless assets. A correction must surely be just around the corner.

I am currently looking to invest in these. I have been told that my Capital is protected and at worst if the product fails to perform I WOULD get my Original investment back (without interest). I started investing in April this year, my only strategy is to use the Money Observer investment funds tables on past performance from 6 months to 3 years. Current account for savings: effect on credit file?
I move my savings around each year to maximise the interest, and will usually open at least one new instant access savings account, one cash ISA and a fixed rate bond each year. I have no problem with this, or the search that goes on my credit file for identity checks. However, savings rates are now very poor, and many…

£36k for kids
I have an "education fund" for the kids most of which is in NS&I Index linked certificates - 100% safe, tax free decent returns. However, one of the series matured and as the kids are too young under the new T&Cs they cashed out. I am looking for somewhere to put them for the next 3-10 years. Bank accounts seem pitiful,…
