Share.com Practice Account Accuracy?
So quick question. How accurate is the share.com practice account? I started on the £15,000 fake money to try out a bit of buying and selling and i have now grown it to £16,300 in 6 months. Now that might not be much to some people but I wanted to see if people think its time i started to trade on the full share.com…

Have Santander stopped offering paying into the eSaver via D/D?
I know they used to do it because i think it was my sister who set one up. Had to fill out a form, post it off & then job done. This was to meet the Halifax £5pm requirement. The wife now needs an extra direct debit after cancelling her gym membership. As she also has a Santander eSaver, she filled out the form linked…

Meaning of Fund performance figures
An investment fund shows growth over 5 years of (approx) +8%, +15%, -6%, +18%, +27%, which looks to me like about 75% overall, yet the chart shows today's value of 1000 invested 5 years ago as about 2200 which looks like 120%. What do these figures actually mean? Looking at my actual investment in the same fund, I reckon…

Hi, This is my first post. Due to the nature of my question I was not sure where to post but if anyone can help I would be most grateful. I am looking for professional advice regarding property investment with a view to letting (so as to generate an income and, hopefully, asset growth) but I am wanting to know if I can use…

Tax on Dividends
Not sure where this thread goes. I have a new limited co. and I have a question regarding tax on dividends. It is very basic and probably silly but I'd be thankful for any info. There is a tax break on dividends below £32.010 is that tax break per shareholder or is that applied to the dividend as a whole before being split…

To make significant returns on an investment (in the region of 20%) is it possible to do this through a standard Stocks and Shares ISA from your average high street bank or is a more diverse portfolio recommended? I ask as I am looking to save up as much as I can in the next three years and so think (please correct me if…

ISA v Share Account
Its late, I am tired and I keep reading the same things..... Essentially, is the main difference between these two products the tax-free element (and therefore investment limit) on the ISA.....? http://www.hl.co.uk/investment-services/isa http://www.hl.co.uk/investment-services/fund-and-share-account I am unlikely to…

Is it worth it, really?
What amounts do you guys invest in these stocks, etc? I'm struggling to get my head around the bother in it all, especially as you can be out of pocket at the end of the day. By the sounds of it 4% is a good return, yet for £10k you're only looking at an extra £400. Am I missing something or is this correct?

A couple of 5 year investments are about to mature and I need to reinvest. switching bank accounts
Just thought that I would share with you, I have just been through a mind numbing switch process that so far has stretched through three e-mails, a failed on-line registration and a half hour phone call with the new provider mainly rattling through Ts&Cs and marketing! It would have been quicker, easier and less…
