How long to process deals of Vanguard LifeStrategy funds?

Options
Hello there,

Just wondering if anyone could advise how long a deal instruction takes to process for Vanguard funds with HL?

I placed a lump sum in my HL fund and share account on 5th Nov, and chose the Vanguard Life Strategy fund I wanted, about 11pm that night. The valuation point for these funds is 21.00h

As of 11.50am this morning, 7th Nov, the deal is still 'pending' with the note 'submitted for dealing' in the order status box on the HL site. Is this normal?

Many thanks for your time.

I think people talked about 3 days or so. Try phoning your broker - they should be able to advise.

Given that you placed the order at 11pm on Tuesday, I wouldn't start worrying until at least Monday...

Completely normal. HL batch up orders received before 8:00 AM for processing so your Tuesday order would accepted by HL on Wednesday. As the status is 'submitted for dealing' it could go through today or tomorrow but in some circumstances could be longer. Check out their explanation on the Pending Orders tab

I've always found Vanguard transactions take at least a couple of days longer to process than other similar investments elsewhere seem to do, this with three different brokers (BI. CS & TD)

I agree, my Vanguard deals always take longer than any others (apart from Ruffer who are also slow)
