Just had the letter from ING about Barclays 'takeover' and all the Q and A's attached...lots about exceeding the 85000 threshold, but should Barclays/ING have not listed Barclays other owned businesses as part of the info, otherwise the threshold could be exceeded unknowingly????

Hargreaves&Lansdown
I have an account with H&L, S&S ISA. I have regular monthly dd set up, rather then buying with one off large amount. What I noticed is that they take the money out of my bank account, then they put it into my S&S account and then it sits there for at least couple of days before they "buy" the units in my chosen fund. Why…

ProSearch
Hi - anyone know much about Prosearch? They contacted me regarding Abbey National shares to say I would lose entitlement and I need to contact them to have cash sent to me, so I replied to give them my new address details - the outcome is that out of the £527.28 due to me, they have taken £100.13 + vat as an administration…

Transfer my savings from Australia
Hey guys, I've been in Australia for almost a year now, going home in 3 weeks. I have managed to save up $10,000 whilst working out here, which I was also able to reclaim all the tax I paid on that too. So, what is the best way to get that money into my UK bank account without losing too much of it in fees. And also, will…

Santander 1-2-3 account 3%
I am considering opening a Santander 1-2-3 current account and holding £20,000 in there as a savings account. Obviously I would need to transfer in £500 per month, but that can be moved out again as I realise that there is no interest on balances over £20,000. It is late, and my brain is fried. I am appealing to all the…

IFAs - what is "normal" for them to charge?
Am going down the route of an S&S ISA for the first time and have had an IFA look into it on my behalf. Just wondered what the "normal" commission for something like this is - they seem to want 3% of any deposit then an annual 2% of the value of the portfolio, if that's the right word. Is this good? Bad? The norm? Is it a…

How would you get a HL S&S 3 month statement? Is it even necessary?

He received a letter from HMCS stating the following (& i quote...): He has current accounts with Nationwide, Santander & Halifax - they should be simple enough to get…
