numerous independent financial advisor sites share cloned text - what does this mean?
If you search Google (with quotes) like this: "with execution only being the cheapest and discretionary the highest" ...and scroll thru a page or 2 of results... you will find numerous different IFA sites using the same identical cloned page. Does this mean they might be fake operators?

I am looking after my mother's finances now that she is in a nursing home. I sold her house for £350,000 and am trying to work out where to put her money. To keep it under the guaranteed amount of £50,000 this means putting it in 7 different banks. This takes a lot of time working out the rates, what sort of account it is…

Investing Shares
I recently left a company that had a share reward scheme where you buy one share and they gave you one free subject to a minimum holding period. On leaving, I paid the tax bill (as they were withdrawn before the minimum holding period) and now own the shares in a nominee account. They have a single company ISA account…

Halifax ISA add sticks in my throat
The new TV adds from Halifax really stick in my throat. ISA's are seen by many as the first port of call for their saving due to the Government tax incentive. Halifax were one of the first to rip interest rates down to next to nothing knowing that many feel confidence that there savings are best in an ISA. 0.2% for…

Question on TERs for tracker funds
I was going through the IMA's database of index tracker unit trust. When sorting the funds by TER, some that come near the top (i.e. the ones with the lowest TERs) are a series of HSBC funds with TERs ranging between 0.27 and 0.29%. However, these appear to have an annual charge between 0.5 and 1%. How can they achieve…
