Fixed rate Bonds question.
I am going to open a couple of fixed rate bonds. In your experience what would be longest you would take out a fixed rate bond for: Two,three, four or five years. I am not sure how long to go for as interest rates can only go up. Thank you for your time and answers.

We have a joint Direct Saver (now what they term I think a 'legacy account') which hasn't had any transactions for some years, so wrote to Abbey at Bradford last week asking them to close it and send a cheque (made out in our joint names). Halifax Reward has just matured - wrong interest!?
Hi, My year-long Halifax Web Saver Reward account has just matured. I was expecting it to pay the advertised 5% rate, but Ive just checked the balance and theyve only paid the .20% rate. I havnt broken any of their terms, so I dont know why theyve paid only a fraction of what it should have done. Has this happened to…

At the beginning of November I applied for a Citibank savings account - it was listed in the Top Savings Accounts on this site. Hello I'm looking for some advice about some savings that I've got. We've been paying £500 into a fixed rate 5% Halifax account for the last year, so we should have about £6000 when it ends in Jan. Cf Octopus absolute fund.
I bought this fund about a month ago and im down 6.5 percent and is graded as medium risk but seems to be more volitile than many high risk funds. I thought that this fund would have outperformed positively in volatile periods like this one . It started out well and made 60 percent in a very short period of a few months. It…

Differences in historical share price data
Why does historical share price data vary between websites? For example, I bought some Shanks plc shares in June 2005. MSN Money lists the high/low/open/close values all between 108p-118p for that entire month. Yet via Yahoo Finance all the share price values are 140p+. The Yahoo site consistently has greater Shanks share…
