Differences in historical share price data

Why does historical share price data vary between websites? For example, I bought some Shanks plc shares in June 2005. MSN Money lists the high/low/open/close values all between 108p-118p for that entire month. Yet via Yahoo Finance all the share price values are 140p+. The Yahoo site consistently has greater Shanks share price values than MSN. Why would this be?

It could be because one of the websites is altering the historic price to take account of the recent rights issue or other corporate action. You could get in touch with Shanks' investor relations or go to a library with an archive of the FT (or other paper) to get the historic price.
