Natural Resources Fund
Can anyone suggest a decent Natural Resources Fund; had a quick scout around and it appears JPM, Blackrock and Investec all have similar. Will obviously do my own research into them, but wondering if anyone has any views on the respective fund managers or providers. Looking to add this sector to my S&S ISA for this tax…

Adding Dividend Payment to Morningstar and/or FT.com
Ok so I add my portfolios to Morningstar and FT.com to track them in their own ways. I got a 'dividend' payment from one of my funds, a measly £1.46. HL just take it off the total amount put in, but I can't seem to add this to either portfolios. I can add cash but then it doesn't count it as my portfolio (as it puts it in…

Advice on Offshore or Portfolio Bonds
I am a UK expat living in Asia. My financial advisor is pushing me to establish a Portfolio Bond or Offshore bond (e.g Friends Provident Reserve Bond). He has three arguements in favour: 1) tax efficiency in the event that I return to the UK 2) Avoidance of Inheritance tax 3) Vehicle to access various funds etc that would…

Natwest e-savings / Cash ISA confusion
Hi folks, I've got a couple of savings accounts and a current account with Natwest. Probably not the best idea in the world at the moment, but thus far they've proven themselves reasonably competent (certainly moreso than Halifax and Yorkshire -- the former had a tendency to "lose" my money, the latter couldn't even handle…

Is our £20k in the right place?
We currently have £20k in a Natwest e-savings account which pays 1.10% AER at the moment. Looking around would the money be better off in a cash ISA or something? Sorry don't know anything about savings etc. Ideally we would want to still have access to it, or maybe move 10k into long term savings and 10k where it is? This…

FTSE All Share ETF
I was looking to buy an ETF to track the FTSE All Share index but have found the AMC of 0.4% on both the Lyxor and Ishare product to be significantly above the AMC on the Fidelity tracker (AMC 0.1%). I'm surprised by this as I thought an ETF would be lower cost. Can anyone tell me if there's a good reason to use an ETF to…

Shares - Laymans terms
Hello, I have a small amount of money (£100) that I wanted to use to 'experiment' in shares. Is this a very foolish time to do so? Is it unlikely to make any profit? Should I stick it in savings instead? And keeping it very simple - how does it all work? Thanks!

Help stocks or not!!!
I currently have all my savings in a cash only ISA, and is there for the long term. Having seen that the markets are pretty low compared to the highs of 2008, is it worth splitting some of this and investing in the stocks (long term) for better growth. If so where do I start looking as I am a complete novice to all…
