They…

Predicting when the Icesave compensation will happen...
Trying to make some sense of the Icesave compensation timeliness (I refuse to believe that the payouts are random), we've established that compensation isn't made by:* Type of account * D.O.B * Surname Has anyone thought whether the 2nd email will follow the 1st email pattern? I got email no1 on 5th November, at 01:26am.…

How to calculate monthly gross interest knowing annual gross
As the title suggests, does anyone know how to calculate what the gross interest rate is when paid out monthly, knowing the annual gross interest rate. I know it's normally given, but for the 1 year Saga Fixed Rate Bond that is now closed, all I know is the gross having been told it correctly today when I rang again. The…

ICESAVE ISA Transfer Certificate from FSCS
Happily people seem to be getting their money returned without too many hitches.:T Some of those lucky people must by now have been reunited with their funds for two weeks. I would really interested to know: Has anyone received an ISA Transfer Certificate from the FSCS yet? Did the transfer go smoothly?

Icesave ISA status?
In the compensation process does the FSCS preserve the ISA status of the payouts or is it just cash to a bank account? Thanks.

Best home for savings
Hi I have some cash that I want to lock into the best rate for the next 1-2 years ie it doesnt need to have instant access but it needs to be safe (ie I will keep below £50k in any one account). I see the AA is doing 6.45% via Bir Midshires and am tempted that way but maybe they are just the last to make a reduction. I…

Question about fixed term deposit accounts.
Could some kind soul, please explain to me why the interest rate goes down the longer the fixed term. I had imagined it being the other way round, but then again, I'm quite ignorant in these matters. i.e Lloyds TSB 6 month term 4% 1 year term 3.75% 2 year term 3.50% I can't see the incentive to keep money long term…
