Over the past few days I have applied for the MSE recommended high interest account with Haupthing Edge. All went smoothly until I asked why the website would not allow me to set up a joint account. AER interest rate
Does it make any difference to the AER on a savings account if the interest is paid monthly and is paid out of the account rather than being retained within the account or is this already taken into account in the AER calculation?

Transfering money to Kaupthing
I've opened a Kaupthing account with £1 from my linked account. I'd now like to transfer a large sum from my Sainsbury's savings account to the Kaupthing account. It seems Sainsburys allow direct transfer to any account which would help in doing the transfer to Kaupthing in a single step (and thereby losing interest on…

We'll probably put it into a high interest account for 6 months while we decide what to do,…

I'm a little confused on how one has to declare interest on a One Year Fixed Rate savings bonds which straddles two tax years.
