Bacs
I,ve just changed my ISA from Halifax to A&L. the money was repaid on 28/03 by BACS but has not yet gone into my new ISA. It's £14,000 and it looks like I'm losing interest on it. How long should BACS transfers take? I thought they should be immediate.

I recently sold a house to liquidate the cash as I no longer spend hardly any time in the UK, I invested in a savings account with HSBC offshore, but each time you transfer money out of the account, they stop the interest for the whole month. Is there a better home for my money?
Unfortunately, nobody answered this for me yesterday ... would REALLY appreciate your thoughts ... We have been saving £30 per month (Prudential With Profits Long Term Saver) for 14 years and 16 months ago increased this amount to £50. I'm not sure whether this was the right thing to do now. Lastest account summary reads…

NS&I-Index Linked Save Certs-Rates Drop
A massive drop of 1.0% down to 0.25% above RPI just announced on new 3-yr certs. 0.35% above RPI on new 5-yr. Not a good buy anymore which means NS&I think inflation is here to stay. So much for the long awaited new certs. Glad I locked in at 1.25% and 1.35% last year.
