Able to hold shares at 16?
My Grandfather died a year ago and he left me some money which the trustees (my dad and uncles) invested in RBS shares. I've read somewhere that it is possible for 16 year olds to hold shares from companies registered in Scotland from the age of 16, but is it different because they were bought with a legacy from a will in…

Latest kerfuffle from ING Direct (merged)
Apols if there is already a thread about this, but I can't find one. Just had an email saying they will pay 5.75% for 3 months on their ordinary savings account, on any new money deposited between today and 15th June. This compares with the current 5% rate. As far as I can see, nowhere do they say you can't transfer money…

Offshore Salary
I'm a freelancer and I'm about to sign a contract with a company in the US. Payment is around 2000USD per month. Instead of them paying into my account in the UK, I was wondering if I could setup an offshore USD account for them to pay into. The reason being, if what I understand is correct, I won't have to declare this as…

Daily "transfer-out limits" for Internet savings accounts
Just wondering how many Internet savings accounts (a.k.a. e-Savings, Online Savings, etc) have an apparent security feature which enforces a daily transfer-out limit when paying money into other people's accounts. I know Barclays enforce a £1,000 daily limit. Anyone know if the other high rate payers (ICICI, Icesave, HSBC,…
