Savings accounts
I want to invest about 150k in a savings account which pays monthly interest and has no penalties for withdrawals. I am over 50 and have looked at loads of accounts but cannot work out the best one. Anyone any ideas please ?? This is my first posting. Thanks

Allliance & Leicester new rates announced
They aren't showing on the A&L website yet, but they are on MoneyFacts. Online saver issue 2 going to 4.9% (5.8% if you have the 0.9% bonus until March 2007). I.e. full 0.25% passed on. Direct saver going to 5.8%, only 0.15% passed on. Rates effective 2/2/07…

Childrens Savings accounts - can I use it?
Just opened an account for my son with a rate of 10% for the first year, its an easy acess account and the only limit enforced is a cap of £5000 per annum. I have a modest savings account and was wondering what was stopping me putting this money in my sons account for the interest?

Hi there, I have decided that I want to invest in an all shares uk index tracker. However I'm confused about the best way to do it. Legal&General do one which costs 0.51% a year.
