Hi all, this is my first post here. I would be very grateful for some help with London buspass pricing. As far as I can tell from the TFL websites, if I go over the cost of a one day buspass it will be capped at that? Is that right? The same for a week, the same for a month right? Why would anyone pre charge with a months…

Inspector asks where you're going?
On a Southern train and inspector asks for tickets and I pull out my oyster card but she didn't have a reader... 'You have oyster?' Yes 'Where are you going?' Croydon -she walks off- What was the point of her question? Clearly I was getting off somewhere along the route so why ask? Why even bother to 'check' tickets if she…

Why have Rail Fares increased?
We are told that ticket prices must go up because the government subsidy must go down but could there be other reasons? Does this suggest that our rail efficiency collapsed soon after privatisation and has only more recently started to recover slightly? Realising the potential of GB Rail (Independent report)

Crank puller advice
This might be one for a dedicated cycling forum but I thought I'd try here first. I've c0cked up. I was taking my cranks off for cleaning. I hadn't fully screwed home the puller so that when I screwed in the centre extractor, the puller started to withdraw, badly damaging the threads in the crank. I've re-assembled the…

Lights
Can anyone tell me if using flashing lights on bikes is the norm these days? Lately on my way home from work I pass the same three cyclist who use a strobe type light front and back which I thought was odd. Is there a benefit to only being visable 50% of the time?

National Express for OAP to Blackpool
My mum wants to travel to Blackpool for a long weekend. She doesn't drive. This will be her first trip on her own (my dad passed away last July). I have looked at trains, but they seem expensive and have at least 3 changes (mum is mobile, but slow). National Express seem to be a reasonable cost and only have one change. I…

Train cancelled, right to refund, poor service
I arrived at my station in the morning, and purchased my ticket from the usual man at the station. I waited on the platform for a few minutes, when suddenly it appeared on the board that my train has been cancelled, and there wouldn't be another for at least half an hour. There was really no way I could hang around, as I…
