Getting a BT line connected?
BT were supposed to come last Tuesday (9/10/07), to connect/install a new line to a newbuild property. They did not turn up. I rang Head Office, (next day 10/10/07) who claim there is a fault with my line, and they will reprocess my order, and the Engineer will phone me (on mobile), to arrange another day. As of yet this…

Hub phone query
Been looking around on here to find stuff related to my confusion. I'm thinking of getting a home hub phone but don't understand whether I can make ordinary calls on it, in which case it's hardly worth me buying. I tried to ask an assistant in comet about it yesterday but they were so busy I left. Can someone please point…

Sky Talk: Who owns the BT phoneline?
Hi guys just a quick question. If I move my calls to 'Sky Talk' (Sky TV) will the phone line still be owned by BT? In other words, if I wanted to move back to BT in future, could I do so at no extra charge?

Rented Flat, previous tenant had BT line - how do I get it turned on
Hi THis is driving me nuts as I have no phone to call BT and their website is rubbish. Sat on their 0800 on an expensive mobile phone (PAYG) for 10 minutes in a queue ... so hoping somebody here knows the answer. The previous tenant here had a BT phoneline. He moved out on 31/08/07. Probably/possibly just left, without…

Should I feel guilty?
I recently changed to use Primus for free evening and weekend calls and mostly 18185 for day calls. This obviously does not put much money into Primus' coffers. How do I live with this? Is it a correct strategy? Does it bother those of you who do this? I feel a little guilty.

BT reconnection charge - phone in use 2 weeks ago!
Hello I have recently moved house and wish to have the use of a telephone. The previous occupant paid her line rental and call charges to TalkTalk. BT claim that the house does not have a BT line. TalkTalk claim that they only provide services using BT lines and therefore the house must have a BT line. TalkTalk also say…

18185 Anyone else having problems
The 18185 service seems to have deteriorated to the point where it is no longer usable. Trying to make calls results in a wait of several 10s of seconds with just a series of clicks being the result and even on the rare occasions it is usable, the bandwidth permitted on each international call (mine are to Spain) makes the…

Beeps On Phonelines - What are they?
Hi, I seem to be getting a number of beeps on my lines which sounds like a key being pressed. It happens on the home phone, on my mobile and on VoIP (VoipBusterPro, VoIP.co.uk, FWD) and seems to happen on almost every single call. The person on the other end doesn't appear to hear them. Could someone throw some light on…

Frequency of BT phone bill
We re-joined BT in the middle of July and seem to be on a pay all the bill at once plan. How often do BT produce their bills - paperless - we haven't had one yet? Not unduly worried at the moment as we are in credit already - they deducted 2 x£37.50 payments in a week and gave us £11 credit to make up for the mistake (or…

Moving main phone point
Does anyone know (roughly) how much BT might charge me if I wanted to move my main phone point from the hallway into our living room? At the moment I have to trail an extension cable all the way around the hallway so we can use the phone point for broadband and Sky+, so ideally I'd like to move it. Also, if I wanted a…

Virgin Media Stealth increases
Most people may have noticed that Virgin Media is copying Gordon Brown when he was chancellor and increasing costs by stealth! Since joining them on the so called good price packages I have received three letters informing me that the call charges will now be based on per minute pricing not per second, BT did that years…

BT online 'Recent Calls' include calls made before last bill
My last bill was on the 13th September, yet when I look at the 'Recent Calls' online, many of them go back to June. I notice BT has a vague warning to say they might not be correct, but what concerns me is that I read a thread on here about a month ago where others who had experienced this problem had been promised by BT…
