Not sure if mods will allow but Rochdale Dog Rescue have the current comp: This will run from when someone opens it on Saturday, 29th March until 8pm on Saturday 5th April, 2009. An RDR supporter has kindly donated a John Lewis Delux Hamper to RDR to help raise some desperately needed funds. We are really struggling with…

Keeping cats off my plants
I'm growing some tomato and chilli plants on a windowsill in my house because i have no sun in my back yard so my question is how can i keep my mischievous kitty off them? I know tomato plants are dangerous for cats and unfortunately they have to go on a sunny windowsill which is also one of her favourite sunbathing spots.…

Burns maize offer
Burns maize dogfood is on offer on the Burns site, 15kg down from £39 to £30. Free delivery. That's very good, so I ordered a couple. But, I think there's a better offer there. I've just seen "Limited Offer - Maize & Alert 2kg bags - Buy 2 get 2 free". http://www.shop.burnspet.com/acatalog/index.html As I said, you can…

Dog and Cat Lovers
Notice to all Pet Lovers The following was found very low posted on a refridgerator door Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints on are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your…

Which Muzzle?
http://www.petsathome.com/find/keyword-is-muzzle/product-is-V00202 Currently using this one on Perry to try and stop his barking at anything that dare move/breath outside.. But the problem is he can still sneaky scavenge given a second to do it. I have neighbours that chuck their rubbish out of windows, they don't believe…

Dog losing hair
I don't know if anyone can help but my french mastiff seems to be losing some hair on her side. The hair just seems sparse in that area but it is only on one side. I have got an appointment at the vets tomorrow but wonder if anyone could have any idea what this could be. There is no redness around the area and someone said…

Vetbed?
After having my dog rip up endless duvets (doesn't chew anything else, just duvets and only if we have a visitor and he is shut away in the kitchen:confused: ), I have today invested in some vetbed. He sleeps in a big oval plastic bed, which we used to stuff with old duvets. I read about vetbed and it sounded good and less…

Buster Dog Collars . . but not?
Hi all, Chaya is having an Op on 10th April & will no doubt need a collar as she loves to lick everything & her wounds will be no exception i'm sure. I've seen collars that look like blown up rubber rings to use instead of cone/elizabethan/buster collars & they look more comfy so I want to buy her one of those. My Vets…

How much is Frontline Combo (the perscription one) from the vets for 6 (or 3)? I know the cost of a consultation will be extra. I'm trying to work out what flea programme would suit us. Thank you:beer:

Antibiotics allergy?
My Tom cat was prescribed Hills for his ear allergy (this was suspected but now I'm not so sure to be honest) as well as steriods. Unfortunately he then slept out & came home with various fight damage's in the form of bites to his ears. One ear became infected so he was prescribed CYNULOX - however subsequently he has…

Dry shampoo for cats
Has anyone used this? Any good? My older tom and little girl keep themselves v clean but the middle tom is a scruffy nightmare. He's got quite long fur and comes in covered in goose gogs, leaves and occasionally earthworms. We comb them all a lot but thought a shampoo wouldn't go amiss.

Does anyone else's dog go mad when it is windy??
When it's windy, my dog seems to go absolutely crazy out on walks - her and Cleo (my mums dog) were both crazy whirlwinds of dog madness today, chasing and running, plunging in and out of the water, and generally haring around at top speed - which is funny to watch, as my mum's dog is very leggy, and my dog is very stumpy,…

Dog chewing

When we are at home, she's an angel, but as soon as the house is empty, she chews everything she can get her paws on.We recently bought a brand new fireside rug,at a cost of £82,and she destroyed it the next day,if she sees soft toys around, she nibbles them to…

I normally buy Frontline flea treatment for cats from my vet, but after watching that programme about some vets ripping customers off I'm wondering if there's any other places that sell it cheaper?

Moving home with cats and tropical fish
Looking for a bit advice. Me and OH are moving from our first home into our new house on monday. As we got our pets whilst living here we are wondering what is the best way to trasport them. We are only moving about 5 minutes away in the car. We have an indoor and a mainly outdoor cat. Should we take them first or last. We…

My rescue cats rescued me!
Something very strange happened last night. During the night my three cats woke me up. One was licking (sandpapering) my brow, the big boy was walking around on my chest and meowing loudly and the third was chewing my fingers. They have never, ever been all three on the bed before, (they are bonding, but very slowly). Once…
