Purchased life annuity- value?
Does anyone have any opinion or experience of these products? I only recently stumbled upon them and was wondering how they compare to simply running down your capital from a savings account? Do they pay a premium for giving up your capital, although in reality it is, or could be if you don't die early, paid back. Or is…

"Water Board" pension
Hope this hasn't already been answered - I struggled to think of good search terms when looking for this.... Chatting recently to my mum, I realised that she doesn't get any pension from when my dad (deceased) worked at the Water Board, as it was then called, nor did he take any pension when he was alive. I guess this…

I understand that you would have to earn at least £5668 during this tax year to make a qualifying year for the state pension scheme. this works out to £109 a week. As you do not have to pay NI until you earn £149, does this mean that you still get qualifying years even without paying NI, if you earn say £130 a week? Hope…
