What is the maximum amount payable if a court case is lost?
Hello everyone. When PE goes to court claiming £165 (comprising £100 charge, £50 solicitors, £15 extras), if you lost at the hearing, is this the amount you will be asked to pay in total or could this figure increase? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Why is receiving advice from forums not helpful in court hearings?
Reading through these threads, I get the feeling that if your identity is revealed or becomes apparent, then your case against the PPC becomes weaker. Why? It doesn't change the original facts. Secondly, in a few court hearings (and also when PPC responds to a defence), the PPC have used the fact that the defendants have…

G4 parking ticket for a hired car
Hi Guys, I wonder if anybody on here can offer me some advice. I recently received three Contractual parking charge notices for unknowingly exceeding the three hour stay in a free G4 run car park that was approximately 90% empty. Most of the parking took place when the retail outlets were closed and only the food outlets…

UKPS (NW) PCN still not going away!
Hello Last month I wrote about my ongoing issues with UKPS, DRP and Zenith after a parking charge issued in November 2012 when a car was parked in a car park when it said it was closed. There was no barrier to stop parking. The car park has since become pay and display. At the time, there was an attendant usually present…

PE Aldi
Hi there, I have recently had a parking ticket from Parking eye asking for £70 (reduced to 40) because i overstayed in a free carpark for around 15 mins too long. I did use the shop but haven't got a receipt, however after reading all the information available here i see that admitting guilt is the first step and to get it…

I let Civil Enforcement Ltd take me to court...
I let CEL take me to court.... I don't deal well with bullying. I guess you might call me a moral Martyr. They withdrew at the steps of the court... I actually pleaded with the court to hold the hearing anyway, unfortunately they declined. If anyone would like to fund a counter-claim I'm happy to do it for the sake of the…

PCN for failing to display season ticket in station car park.
I am a season ticket holder at a rail station car park operated by Meteor. 3 months ago, I did not display my season ticket (they don't provide a way to stick it to anything, so it periodically slips from the dashboard) when parked and received a PCN. I emailed them to appeal on the basis of having a valid season ticket…

Scotland 'event'. Live in England.
Hello, long time lurker but now need to ask a question. A relative overstayed in a motorway service area in Scotland. Their car is registered in their own name at their home address in England. I see from previous advice that fake charges issued for 'events' in Scotland the advice has been to ignore - is this still the…

IGNORE: Doubling the cost to a PPC of pursuing a ticket??
Here's a thought for comments [newbies please don't follow this until it's been thought through by everyone...... Instead of 'appeal to PPC, then appeal to POPLA [on GPEOL]' maybe we can double the cost of a PPC taking action from £27 to a minimum of £52?? So.... Ignore all PPC stuff UNTIL they issue court papers. [Costs…

PPC Car Hire Admin Charges
I have been in dispute with Avis over a number of issues. I have escalated them to a high level & I am pleased to say it is going well. Everything has been resolved to my satisfaction, including all overpayments taken by them & the costs incurred by me refunded. However, one thing is outstanding. They have charged me 30…

Parking Eye Penalty
Hello Everyone, I just wanted some advice on how I should go forward as I have recently received a parking notice from Parking Eye. I overstayed 11 minutes in a free KFC car park where the maximum time was 90 minutes. However this over stay was due to my other half being unwell after we had eaten. I have not appealed or…

'Message from a member of staff at a PPC'
I do get some random rubbish private messages sometimes! :T Message from a member of staff at a PPC I should point out that from the off that while I may work for a PPC I am actually writing this off my own back and not for the PPC in question, the industry or any other body. I'm not here to justify our industry, practices…

UKPC charge in Scotland - what should I do next?
Hi all I realise there are many posts about parking charges. Sorry to add to them! I would just like a wee bit of advice regarding what I should do next in this particular situation. I parked in my usual 2 hours free car park and forgot to get the ticket to show that. I came back from a 20-minute shop to discover the…

nhs residencies parking charge notice
Ok so I parked at the hospital residencies as when I lived there I found it hard to park as so many cars parked there without proper permits but nothing was done about it. I then figured it should be ok as nobody regulated it. Today found a parking charge notice on my car after my shift. Says I have to pay within 30days or…

Private PCNs in Scotland
My son used my car to park at the hospital where he works as a staff nurse. It is free to park in this car park but you're supposed to display a valid ticket from the parking meter machine which he did not do. He received a PCN for £100 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days as he had not displayed a valid parking ticket.…
