Moore & Son Jewellers - gold buying
I got a flyer through the door for this - they're in the Ashburn Hotel in Lurgan on Wednesday. I was a bit dubious because they only give a mobile number, no other contact details, no business address. I certainly would be reluctant to do business with anyone who only gives a mobile number! Plus the price they're quoting…

Direct debits. Can this really be right?
ok, this should probably go on the banking board, but I prefer the Northern Ireland board as I find that people are generally that bit more helpful....and civilised! To cut a long story short....the ever competent Santander have recently set up a DD on my bank account and helped themselves to £200. I have never had any…

Shooting Range in Northern Ireland?
This will probably sound strange and odd... Me and the missus want to try something different this weekend so we're planning to go stay in a hotel for the weekend while the wee one is getting minded. For something different we thought it would be fun to try going to a shooting range. Does this seem odd? Do couples do this…

The standard of driving, especially in and around Belfast
This should probably go in the Money Savers Arms, but I think it applies specifically to Northern Ireland and Belfast in particular. What is it with drivers these days? I learnt to drive in the mid-eighties and my instructor taught me to be respectful of other drivers, to be cautious in traffic and to be safe at all times.…

Old tvs
Hi Guys, I recently bought a house in Belfast and the previous owners left most of the furnishings, including their two tvs: a huge 'old-style' one & a smaller, portable older style one. We recently went the whole hog and bought a flatscreen tv, so now have no use for either of these tvs. It is a pity as the larger one - a…

Anyone know about grants for university?
We've been saving since our children were born for their education post-18, if they choose to go down that route. Despite many times when we needed the cash, we've managed so far not to touch it. However, as the time gets nearer, a friend of my husband has told him that by having these savings, we will be ineligible for…
